First in the House

Price

$19.99

The inspiring true story of Joseph Hayne Rainey, the first Black man to serve in the United States Congress. Born into slavery in South Carolina, Joseph's future seemed limited. But with courage and determination, he changed his own life-and American history.

The excitement is building as we rev up for the start of production on the docu-drama "First in the House"

We are posting this teaser to keep you informed on what is happening as we move forward. Just click the link for a preview of this project spotlighting the Life and Achievements of our nation's first duly-elected Black Congressman. Spearheading this project has been my mission and a labor of love as I work to fulfill my great-aunt's wishes. Olive Rainey, his daughter, instilled pride in me about her father's accomplishments from a young age. If you want to know more, the story of our familial bond is detailed in the book of the same name (pictured below). Available here and online at all major book retailers.

Living the legacy,

Lorna A. Rainey
